So last night I presented my first of a series of six Simple Folk Radio shows featuring exclusively recorded live sessions. Joined by the excellent contemporary folk singer, Mary Hampton and produced by the Ghost of Dillon Swinhoe, we had a joyful time and look forward to unpicking our conversational mishaps when relistening.
The show features a 25 minute Richard Dawson set recorded live at the Caxton Arms, November 2011. Magical it is too.
Also music from Mouth 4 Rusty, James Canty, Michael Kiwanuka, Vic Chesnutt, Rowan Coupland and yeah a whole bunch of mysterious untitled old music from Mary’s archives.
The show is broadcast on 97.2fm (Brighton area), and streaming at radioreverb.com tonight at 6pm, then Thursday 10am and Saturday 1am. It is then uploaded to the Simple Folk Radio archive and you can listen to it non stop until the end of time. (Update, it is online now and can be listened to by clicking the postcard).
